US and Iran Sign E-MOU to End War, Axios Reports
Axios, citing U.S. officials, reported early Thursday that the United States and Iran have electronically signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to end the war.
The news outlet further stated, based on the same officials, that the MOU between the two nations has entered into effect.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei confirmed that the text of the MOU was officially signed by the presidents of the United States and Iran.
This development comes amidst reports concerning the broader regional implications, including popular anger in Ibb against Houthi sectarian provocations, and challenges faced by the Yemeni legitimate government in addressing the repercussions of the US-Iran agreement.
Internal warnings from Tehran also suggest a deepening crisis within Iran following the agreement with Washington. Separately, clashes in Al Bayda resulted in injuries during a confrontation between citizens and a Houthi campaign in Rada'a. In other news from Yemen, traffic accidents in liberated areas during the first half of June resulted in 28 deaths and 210 injuries.
