General People's Congress Supporters Protest Attacks on Taiz Headquarters
Dozens of leaders and supporters of the General People's Congress (GPC) gathered at the party's headquarters in Taiz governorate on Wednesday to protest what they described as persistent attacks and a lack of action from authorities regarding the sanctity of party property.
Participants emphasized that any targeting of the GPC headquarters constitutes a violation of the law and an infringement upon political and party activities. They urged local and security authorities to fulfill their duty in protecting party headquarters and to implement directives from the governor without selectivity or delay.
The protesters articulated that their demands extend beyond reclaiming rights and protecting property. They called for a firm political stance against what they characterized as deliberate attempts at marginalization and exclusion directed at the GPC, reaffirming their commitment to the party's role and its political and national standing.
The attendees stressed their determination to continue peaceful and legitimate public mobilization, escalating their actions through lawful means. Their objective is to ensure the implementation of official directives, hold accountable those involved, and guarantee the protection of the party's headquarters and its right to political activity, thereby upholding the rule of law and preserving partisan pluralism within the governorate.
