Houthis Launch Ballistic Missiles Towards Bab el-Mandeb Strait

The Houthi militia launched five ballistic missiles targeting the Bab el-Mandeb strait and Mocha, escalating threats to coastal areas and maritime traffic.

The Taiz Military Axis reported that two ballistic missiles were fired from Houthi-controlled positions east of Taiz city towards Mocha and the Red Sea. These launches represent a significant escalation, jeopardizing coastal regions and navigation in the strategic Bab el-Mandeb strait.

The Taiz Military Axis's media center stated that government forces' reconnaissance teams detected the launch of these two missiles. The rockets originated from a site located behind the Beit Hael Saeed Anam factories, specifically from the former command post of the 170th Air Defense Brigade in Jabal Oman, Al-Houban area.

Military and media sources indicated that the total number of ballistic missiles fired by the Houthi militia towards Bab el-Mandeb since this morning reached five. The missiles were reportedly launched from positions in Ibb city and the Al-Houban area east of Taiz, as part of a series of new attacks by the militia targeting the West Coast and the international shipping lane.

This Houthi escalation occurs amidst ongoing attacks on Mocha city and its port, utilizing ballistic missiles and drones. These actions raise concerns about the impact on international navigation security in the Red Sea and the Bab el-Mandeb strait.
