Young Girl Injured in Houthi Mortar Attack East of Taiz
A ten-year-old girl sustained injuries following a mortar attack launched by Houthi forces on the Al-Arjam area in Wadi Salh, located in the Salah district east of the Yemeni city of Taiz.
Local sources confirmed that the militia targeted residential neighborhoods in Wadi Salh with multiple mortar shells. One of the projectiles struck the courtyard of a home belonging to the family of the victim, identified as Rafit Abdul Qawi Taher Abdul Rahman.
The impact of the shell left the child with a shrapnel wound to her right upper arm, which has resulted in impaired movement of her index finger. She was subsequently transported to the Military Hospital in Taiz to receive urgent medical treatment.
This incident is part of a broader pattern of violence in the region. Recent reports from the Taiz Health Office indicate that Houthi aggression has resulted in 69 casualties, including both deaths and injuries, over the past two weeks alone.
