Yemeni Government Forces Down Large Houthi Drone in Al-Jawf

Yemeni government forces successfully intercepted and downed a large Houthi-operated unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) in the Al-Jawf governorate on Wednesday, with military officials suspecting the craft was carrying explosives.

Military sources confirmed that air defense units neutralized the drone near the Al-Labanat area. Observers noted that the aircraft was significantly larger than the standard surveillance and strike drones typically deployed by the Houthi militia in this sector of the country.

Preliminary inspections of the recovered wreckage indicate that the drone was likely weaponized. There have been no reports of casualties or significant property damage resulting from the intercept or the subsequent impact of the wreckage.

This incident marks the first time government forces have downed an aerial vehicle of this scale on the Al-Jawf front. Military analysts suggest the drone may be of Iranian origin, citing the ongoing pattern of technical and military support provided to the Houthi militia by Tehran.
