Houthi Escalation in Rural Taiz Triggers Civilian Alarm and Military Mobilization

Houthi forces have intensified their military activities across rural Taiz, launching indiscriminate shelling near civilian infrastructure and deploying significant reinforcements toward the Al-Aqroud and Al-Silw fronts.

Local sources reported that Houthi militants shelled the Duba area in the Al-Shamayatayn district on Sunday. A projectile struck the perimeter of an elementary school located within a residential village, causing widespread panic and fear among students and local residents.

In a separate engagement, Houthi fighters launched an offensive on positions in the Al-Ahraz area, situated on the outskirts of the Al-Wazi'iyah district. While the militants managed to seize control of these positions for several hours, the situation in the area remains fluid following subsequent tactical developments.

Furthermore, reports from the Khadir district indicate that Houthi forces have funneled human reinforcements into the city of Al-Dimnah. These mobilized units were subsequently split, with deployments directed toward the Al-Aqroud area in the Al-Masrakh district and the Al-Silw district in the province's rural periphery.

These maneuvers represent a broader pattern of escalation by the Iran-backed Houthi militia across multiple fronts in rural Taiz. The persistent military buildup and the targeting of populated areas continue to threaten regional stability and the safety of the civilian population.
