Houthi Forces Reportedly Sustain Heavy Casualties in Taiz Amid Military Escalation

Local sources in the southwestern Yemeni governorate of Taiz reported a significant movement of Houthi military assets on Saturday, including approximately 20 armored vehicles and five ambulances transporting casualties toward the Al-Dhikra area via the Al-Sitteen road.

According to the reports, a portion of the dead and wounded were transported to the military hospital in Al-Saleh City, while additional vehicles continued onward toward the governorates of Ibb and Sana'a. The volume of casualties appears to have strained local medical facilities, prompting the urgent mobilization of additional personnel.

Sources confirmed that medical staff from Al-Manar Hospital in Ibb were summoned to assist at the Al-Saleh military facility. This deployment suggests that the hospital is currently managing a patient load that exceeds its standard operational capacity, underscoring the severity of the recent engagement.

The activity follows a period of persistent tension and intensified military operations across multiple frontlines in and around Taiz. The Houthi militia, which maintains strict control over information regarding its human losses, has yet to issue an official statement regarding the casualties or the circumstances surrounding the recent surge in activity.
