Yemeni Government Forces Report Over 100 Houthi Casualties in Taiz Clashes

Government forces and Popular Resistance units in the Taiz axis reported heavy fighting against Houthi militias across multiple fronts, resulting in the deaths of more than 100 militants and dozens of injuries over the past 24 hours.

According to an official statement from the Taiz military axis, the confrontations were concentrated in several strategic areas, including the Humair region in Maqbanah district and Bani Bakari in Jabal Habashi, located west of the governorate. Clashes also intensified along the Al-Aqroud and Samie fronts in the south, the areas surrounding Taiz city, and the Bani Omar front in Ash-Shamayatayn district in the southwest.

Military officials confirmed that government forces, supported by airstrikes from the coalition air force, successfully repelled multiple Houthi offensives. The defensive operations resulted in significant material losses for the insurgents, including the destruction and neutralization of several military vehicles.

The statement further noted that the engagement led to the destruction of a Houthi weapon depot, which caught fire during the exchange of hostilities. The military command continues to monitor frontlines as government forces consolidate their positions against the ongoing militia movements.
