Three Civilians Killed and Others Injured in Houthi Attacks in Taiz

Three civilians, including a child, were killed and several others, including three women, were wounded in separate incidents involving Houthi militia attacks in the rural areas of Taiz Governorate in southwestern Yemen.

According to human rights sources, a landmine planted by the Houthi militia detonated in the village of Bani Amer, located in the Al-Shamayatayn district in the southern part of the governorate. The explosion resulted in the deaths of a woman’s daughter and two of her sisters.

In a separate incident, local sources reported that 13-year-old Elias Mohammed Ali Al-Jundi and another citizen, Motasem Ibrahim Ahmed Qasim, were killed during Houthi artillery shelling. The attack targeted residential homes in the village of Ad, situated atop Mount Sabr in the Sabr Al-Mawadim district, south of Taiz city.

The shelling caused further casualties among the local population, although a precise count of the injured remains undetermined at this time. These attacks underscore the persistent threats posed to civilians in rural Taiz by landmines and indiscriminate shelling, which continue to inflict significant human and structural damage on residential areas.
