Aden Security Forces Launch Broad Operation to Apprehend Criminal Elements

Security authorities in the interim capital of Aden have launched a comprehensive operation in the Crater district to strengthen public order, target criminal cells, and apprehend individuals wanted by the state.

The operation was conducted under the direct supervision of the Minister of State and Governor of Aden, Abdulrahman Sheikh, and follows explicit directives from the Director General of Aden Police, Major General Mutahar Ali Naji Al-Shuaibi. The campaign aims to uphold the rule of law, maintain public safety, and disrupt the activities of elements suspected of collaborating with Houthi militias.

Beyond the pursuit of wanted individuals, security forces are strictly enforcing regulations against the unauthorized carrying of firearms in public spaces. The initiative also includes the impoundment of unregistered vehicles and the removal of derelict automobiles from streets and residential neighborhoods to improve urban order and safety.

Authorities are conducting rigorous identity checks, particularly focusing on individuals recently arriving from Houthi-controlled territories. Those identified as displaced persons are being processed and transferred to designated camps in coordination with relevant humanitarian agencies, while others suspected of subversive activities are being referred for legal investigation.

The security campaign further addresses unauthorized construction projects encroaching upon mountain slopes. By removing these illegal structures, the administration seeks to curb land encroachment and preserve the aesthetic integrity of the city’s public infrastructure.
